Leadership Training Event
Introduction to Leadership Training was a day-long event that took place at Mr. Bruce's backyard with about 17 Scouts and three adults. The focus of the training was on Scouts in, or considering, leadership positions. The event was designed to teach Scouts useful leadership and organizational skills that would help them prosper in their roles. Some of the things that Scouts learned about were: visions, what a mission statement is, SMART goals, how the troop leadership is structured, what specific roles do, what makes a good leader, the EDGE method, what makes a good team, how a team develops, and how the Scout Law applies to being a leader. The event also had fun and instructive games such as a memory challenge, a team work challenge, telephone, and the night crossing game.
