District Camporee

The District Camporee, Rocky Mountain Rendezvous Campout, was held at Camp Highroad in Aldie, Virginia from the 15th to the 17th of October. At this campout, troops from the Chain Bridge District came together to participate in a variety of activities with a mid-nineteenth theme. Scouts participated in archery, hatchet throwing, slingshots, flint and steel lessons, pioneering skills practice, and primitive cooking. During primitive cooking, Scouts learned to cook shish kabobs in a fire pit. Mr. Faris additionally taught Scouts how to cook pizza on hot stones. Though Scouts encountered a few challenges with cooler weather and a period of rain, Scouts demonstrated great problem solving, good spirits, and came home with memorable and fun experiences.
